Deep Dive Investigations

When a service health score degrades, ITSI's Deep Dive feature allows you to investigate the root cause by drilling down from the service level to individual KPIs, entities, and raw events. Deep Dives provide a swimlane view showing multiple KPIs side-by-side over time.

By placing CPU, memory, response time, and error rate KPIs in parallel swimlanes, you can visually identify which metric spiked first. This temporal correlation distinguishes root causes from symptoms.

Always add the "entity count" KPI to your Deep Dive. If the number of reporting entities suddenly drops, the health change may be due to missing data, not an actual outage.
